Language Arts
Our series book reading and writing took off to a great start. First, students came up with book club
agreements before they discussed any books. Students were assigned a series book and this week
they looked at character traits and feelings of the characters in their book and how these characters
respond to a problem.

In writing students looked at the structure of a letter and wrote the beginning of their opinion about

Math
We started a new unit in math and we spent time looking at the vocabulary that students will be
using in for this unit. Then, students were introduced to bar graphs. They came up with their own
question and represented the data their collected in a bar graph. We also graphed our most favorite
book for March book Madness.

Social Studies
Students sorted celebrations books as a group and then looked at the similarities and differences
that these celebrations have.
